FIVE MT. LEBANON SENIORS have been named semifi-
nalists in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Competition.
Semifinalists come from a pool of about 1.6 million students
from about 22,000 schools, who take the Preliminary Scholastic
Achievement Test (PSAT) in the spring of their junior year. Only
about 1 percent, 16,000, of high school students become
National Merit Semifinalists. A select group of students from
among the national semifinalists will be named finalists and be
eligible for National Merit Scholarships.
